Charles Thomas

Charles Dupree Thomas was born April 28, 1948 to the late Howard Dupree and Ida Lee Ratcliff in Marlboro County. His late grandmother, Ruby Lee Bailey Thomas, raised him. He attended school in Marlboro County and later joined the job corp.

He entered into the arms of Jesus on August 6, 2017 at Chesterfield Convalescent Center in Cheraw, SC.

He will be reunited in heaven with his parents, his grandmother his three sisters, Sylvia Ratcliff, Carolyn “Cookie” Ratcliff, Wanda Dupree, and granddaughter, Miracle Brown.

He leaves to cherish his memories his children: Linda Brown, Charmaneta Smith, Charlee Brown (Chris Brown), Takiris Smith, Charles Thomas, Jr., all of  Bennettsville, SC; his brothers, Anthony Ratcliff, Jeffery Ratcliff, Michael Ratcliff, Levester “Pete” Ratcliff, Robert Ratcliff, Milton Ratcliff, Ronnie Ratcliff of Brooklyn, NY, and a sister, Stephanie Greene of Florence, SC; his aunts Pearl Thomas, Shirley Townsend of Bennettsville, Annie Ruth Jones of Brooklyn, NY; his uncles, Peter Thomas of Benson, NC and J.T. Thomas of Brooklyn, NY; he also leaves behind sixteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

The family is receiving friends at 101 Spencer Street, Bennettsville.
