Isabelle Boatwright

“Isabell W. Boatwright” the daughter of the late John Lucas and Julia Bell Wiley was born on June 3, 1939 in Dunbar, South Carolina. She departed this earthly life on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 while at the McCoy Memorial Nursing Center located in Bishopville, South Carolina after a long-term illness.

“Isabell W. Boatwright” was converted at an early age and then joined New Covenant Free Rock Church in 1985. Where she faithfully served for 31 years until her death. She has held positions on the Fire Choir and Pastors Aide. She never met a stranger, knowing her was like knowing what love is and how God wants you to love one another. Her life was full of laughter, smiles, and praise no matter the location.

She was joined in holy matrimony to William H. Boatwright for 30 years. Thirteen children were born to this union.

“Isabell W. Boatwright” was never afraid of a ride. She love country rides with her grandchildren. She also loved trips to the mountains with her family. She was also recognized as McColl Elem/Middle School Grandparent of the year for devoting her time as a Volunteer Chaperone for three consecutive years. She loved to sing, her favorite song was “God has smiled on me.” She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved her children and grands. She was the life of the family.

“Isabell W. Boatwright” was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend to those who knew her. She precedes in death her husband William H. Boatwright, one daughter Shannon Y. Cortez, one son Ricky R. Boatwright, and one granddaughter Shyeda Y. Boatwright. Three brothers; Marvin Wiley, Rufus Wiley and Robert Lee Jackson.

Left to cherish her loving memories - her children Betty (David) Foxworth, Beulah (Richard) Welch, Patricia (Willie) Tyson, Latasha (Ricky) Day, Terrance (Latonya) Boatwright, Robert C. Boatwright of the South Carolina area. Willie (Bunnie) Davis of the Georgia area, Bobby (LeVaughn) Lewis of the Florida area, Anthony (Christiana) Boatwright, Larry H. Boatwright, and Deverrie L. Boatwright of the North Carolina area. One sister Margaret Bethea of Highpoint, North Carolina. One sister-in-law Phyllis Wiley and one brother and sister- in-law Willie and Mary Boatwright. One daughter- in-law Janice Boatwright. Forty-one grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Special friends, Mrs. Gertrude Covington, Ms. Rena Kat, Ms. Doretha Bildon, Mrs. Bertha Alford, Annie Mae Johnson, and Lorene Harley.
