James Dixon

Mr. James E. Dixon, son of Mable Joines Dixon and the late Percival Dixon, was born June 2, 1956 in Chesterfield, SC. He departed this life Saturday, July 1, 2017.

He attended Chesterfield County Schools. At an early age, he accepted Christ and joined St. James AME Zion Church in Chesterfield, SC.

He was preceded in death by his father Percival Dixon Sr., a brother Perry Dixon, and sisters, Josephine Nivens and Sandra S. Harrison.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Margaret C. Dixon, a daughter Illa D. Tucker of Bennettsville, SC, sons, Jayson (Ashley) Sellers of Cheraw, SC, Timothy (Rhonda) Cook and Addison (Maranatha) Hope of High Point, NC, James (Doris) Hope and Ira Hope of Greensboro, NC; his mother Mable Dixon of Chesterfield, SC; a sister Mary Jean (Jack) Bowen of Cheraw, SC; brother Percival Dixon of Florence, SC; twenty nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren; aunts Audrey Griffens and Nora J. Smith of Chesterfield, SC; two brother-in-laws John L. Cook of Fairmont, NC and Clinton M. Harrison of Chesterfield, SC; sister-in-laws Cora (Lawrence) Thompson, Mary Wardlaw and Lucille (Nelson) Dease of High Point, NC; Gracie Bass and Bessie (Tyron) Davis of Bennettsville, SC and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

James loved all of his family and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 220 Fletcher Street, Bennettsville.
