Rudolph Sturdivant

Deacon Rudolph C. Carver Sturdivant, son of the late Jerry Wade Daisy Truesdale, was born March 5, 1943 in Winston Salem, NC.

Rudolph attended Akins High School in Winston Salem, NC. He later furthered his education at Penn State University where he received an Associate’s Degree in Arts and Science.

Rudolph worked at Galey and Lord, Marlboro High School and Oak River for a number of years. He was ordained a deacon in 2006 and was a faithful member of Greater Rock Apostolic Ministry.

Rudolph peacefully departed this life on July 9, 2017 at his home.

He leaves to cherish his loving wife of thirty seven years, Diane Sturdivant; two daughters, Renata (Timothy) Mungo of Laurinburg, NC and Rudella (Raheen) Purvis of Bennettsville, SC; two step daughters Melissa Townsend of Bennettsville, SC and Melinda Townsend of Florence, SC; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three sisters, Beverly Staley and Tracy Forest  of Winston Salem, NC and Lela Gibbs of San Diego, CA; one brother Eugene (Vanessa) Sturdivant of Huntersville, NC; one aunt Pauline Wesley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 1808 East Main Street Ext., Bennettsville.
