Thomasena David

Mrs. Thomasena Pearson David, daughter of Louise Walls Pearson and the late Champ Pearson, Sr. was born on January 10, 1943 in Marlboro County.  On the morning of March 13, 2017, God sent his angels to WellStar Cobb Tranquility to escort her to His loving care.  She is now at peace and resting in the arms of the Lord. 

Thomasena attended the public schools of Marlboro County and graduated from Eastside High School in 1961.  She completed her post high school education in Early Childhood Development. 

Thomasena resided in Brooklyn, NY and was employed by the New York City Public School System.  She worked for more than 30 years and retired in 2007. 

Thomasena accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Tatum, SC. She later joined First Corinthian Baptist Church in Brooklyn, NY. There she served faithfully on the Usher Board. She also attended The First Baptist Church of Crown Heights in Brooklyn, NY.

Upon her retirement, she moved to Douglasville, Georgia. She attended Womb International Ministries in Douglasville, GA.  Thomasena enjoyed her retirement years and spent her leisure time with family and friends.  She loved to read, go to movies, and shop.

Thomasena was united in marriage to Thomas David and to this union two sons were born, Jeffrey and Gregory.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Clemon Walls; one sister, Frances P. Wheeler (“DollBaby”); and one granddaughter, Tiffany Meekins.

Left to cherish fond memories of her are: her mother, Louise W. Pearson; her husband, Thomas David of Brooklyn, NY; two sons, Jeffrey (Leslie) David of Douglasville, GA; Gregory David of Brooklyn, NY; a brother, Champ (Gloria) Pearson, Jr. of Elgin, SC; a sister, Retha (Sam) Burrell of Bennettsville, SC; a brother -in-law, James Wheeler, Jr. of Bennettsville, SC; five grandchildren, Miriam Precious Wright of Brooklyn, NY; Jada and Janai David and Anthony Watts of Douglasville, GA; and Collin Burks of Harlem, NY; great-granddaughter, Madison Wright of Brooklyn, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
