Virginia Lee Palmer McInnis was born on December 9, 1940 to the late Elliot and Gradie Palmer in Marlboro, SC. She departed this life on January 29, 2017 at the home.
She was educated at Lincoln High School; later she achieved her GED at Minturn Grove School. She worked numerous of sewing jobs; her last being
Soffees in Rowland, NC. Her favorite hobbies included fishing and of course singing.
She was united in holy matrimony to Ernest McInnis, Jr., and to this, union seven children were born.
She grew up in Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church later converted to New Holly United Methodist Church where she sung passionately and faithfully on the choir until her health declined. She held the title of president for years and she was a member of the usher board.
Virginia was a very warm and loving person whom if you met you would not forget. She did not mind feeding you, sheltering you, or telling you like it was.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-nine years, Ernest McInnis, Jr; son: James McInnis; daughter: Linnie White; grandson: Patrick
White, Jr.; three sisters: Ree, Pearlie Mae, and Grace; two brothers: John and Thomas; two nephews: Chester and Charles Palmer.
She leaves to cherish her memories four daughters: Patricia (David) McLaughlin, Linda (Willie) Miles, Peggy (Jessie, deceased), McKinnon, Shamika
(Willie) Cain; a son: Lamont (Cheketa) McInnis all of Dillon, SC; three grandchildren that was reared in the home: Alexis Leggett, Travis and Lasonda
McInnis; two sisters: Annie (Charlie) Williams of Clio, SC and Queen Johnson of Bridgeport, CT; a special son-in-law: Patrick White; twenty three grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; her first great-great grand on the way to make the start of her fourth generation; special cousins: Teretha Davis, Mary Ann McRae, Matthew Palmer, and Charles Cook; a very special “Friend and Phone Buddy”: Wttom she loved dearly William McCrae; a goddaughter: Crystal Bethea, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
