C.B. McLaughlin Obituary

Mr. CB McLaughlin was born on February 18, 1946 in Clio, South Carolina to Alonzo and Almenia McLaughlin.

He departed his life on Tuesday December 17, 2019 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton, NJ after a strong and courageous battle with Leukemia,

CB graduated from Lincoln High School in 1964 in Clio, South Carolina. Historically, The Class of 1964 was greatest class ever to produce skilled and talented business minded individuals. CB later joined the United States Army for two Faithful years. CB was stationed in Fort Brag, North Carolina and proudly served in Puerto Rico and Abroad. CB made sure that he sent money home for his family so that they would have a good Christmas.

After his retirement from the United States Army, CB meet Barbara J. Lee at a funeral, and it was Love at first sight. They were married in May 1970 in Bennettsville, South Carolina. After a family visit to Trenton, New Jersey, CB and Barbara decided to make Trenton their home and resided there for 49 Years. They had three beautiful children from this union.

CB was employed at The Trenton Psychiatric Hospital at a Dietary Supervisor for 30 Years. CB retired at the Tender Age of 55.

CB was a devoted Husband and loving Father and Grandfather and affectionately known as “Pop Pop”.

CB was an industrious worker and put his family first.

CB enjoyed helping his family and his friends. CB was kindhearted, mild tempered and would keep you laughing. He had a passion for dancing. In his spare time, CB enjoyed listening to Old Rhythm and Blues and watching Basketball and spending quality time with his family.

As a result of his love for Dancing, in 1964, CB and his younger brother David won a Dance Contest at Lincoln High School. 

CB was very congenial with the Family Heritage and History of the Harley’s and the McLaughlin’s. CB would take the time to explain this to his family as the generations begin to grow and knew how important this was.

CB is preceded by the Death of his benevolent and faithful wife, Barbara J. McLaughlin-Lee, Dearest Parents, Alonzo and Almenia McLaughlin; Four Sisters; Ella Francis McArthur, Mary G. Bethea, Margaret McCrae and Carrie McLaughlin. Two Brothers; Joseph McLaughlin and Bill McLaughlin

He lives to cherish his memories, Two Sons; Terrence C. McLaughlin and Lamont A. McLaughlin of Robbinsville, NJ. One Daughter; Kimberly D. Watts of Edgewater Park, NJ. Three Grandsons; Rachmaun Jr., Nazir and Tariq Watts of Edgewater park, NJ. Mother-in-law, Darletha Lee; Father- in-law, Moses Lee Jr.. Loving Sisters; MarthaNell McLaughlin of Clio, SC and Elois (Robert) Cain of Bennettsville, SC. One Devoted Brother; David (Patrica) McLaughlin. Sisters in Law; Beula McLaughlin of McColl, South Carolina; Louise Lee of Conyers, GA, Angela (Gary) Bradshaw of Columbia, SC. Brothers in Law; Moses (Stacey) Lee III of Alpharetta, GA, Dexter (Sharon) Lee of Blythewood, SC and Jason (Stephanie) Lee of Stuttgard, Germany. Two Aunts, Anna McLaughlin of Brooklyn, NY and Mildred Hamm of Newark, NJ. Close Friend, Alan Dickerson of Trenton, NJ. Along with and a Host of Nieces, Nephews and cousins and many relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
