Mrs. Dorothy Ella (Thomas) Pouncy was born January 30, 1941 to the late R.B. Thomas and Adelaide Thomas, in Bennettsville, SC.
She attended school in Marlboro County. In 1960 she moved to New York. She worked for New York City transit for twenty one years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lornell Pouncy, father R.B. Thomas, mother Adelaide Thomas and sisters Bertha Lee Thomas Williams and Rose Mary Thomas Muller.
Celebrating her life, she leaves a daughter Sheila Pouncy Brewington of Bennettsville, SC, a son Lornell Pouncy Jr., of Bennettsville, SC; two grandsons Michael A Freeman Jr. and Terry Davon Brewington of Charlotte, NC; five nieces and nephews; twelve great nieces and nephews; a cousin/brother Rudolph Thomas; Olivia, Clara and Katherine raised by R.B. Thomas; two uncles and one aunt in North Carolina.
The family is receiving friends at 102 Jordan Street, Bennettsville.
