Elizabeth Rebecca Pegues Platt, affectionately called “Liz”, was born to the late Hattie and Prentice Pegues of Laurinburg, NC on January 17, 1962. Elizabeth received her education in the Scotland County Public Schools.
At an early age, Elizabeth accepted Christ into her life and later became a member of Hickory Grove United Methodist Church of Clio, SC. On Wednesday, October 4, 2017, Elizabeth gained her heavenly wings.
For many years Elizabeth worked as a healthcare worker servicing many families and opening her heart to those who knew her. She enjoyed life and lived life to the fullest even in the midst of her declining health. Elizabeth had a love for her granddaughters that was immeasurable. Some of her many hobbies included traveling, fishing, sewing, arts and crafts and playing with her “side kick” and just spending times with her family.
Elizabeth was joined I Holy Matrimony to Thomas “Snag” Platt and to this union two children were born.
Preceding her in death was one brother Timothy Pegues and one sister Jeanette Adams.
She leaves to cherish her fond, loving and unforgettable memories, to her husband of thirty eight years, Thomas Platt, a loving son Thomas Pegues, a very loyal and devoted daughter and “son-in-law” Darnella Pegues and Willie Covington; two grandchildren, Ex”Ziah Covington “Side Kick” who meant the world to her , Nanny and her little ray of sunshine, Aaliyah Pegues; six sisters, Lizzie Ellison (Edward) of Laurinburg, NC, Maxine Fairley, Hattie Clark (Michael) and Gloria Covington, all of Laurel Hill, NC, Catherine Pegues and Patricia Pegues of Springfield, MA; one brother, Prentice Pegues Jr. of Laurel Hill, NC; one special friend, Rosa Hargrove and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
