Geralene McCoy

Ms. Geralene McCoy, daughter of the late Creola Thomas McCoy and James McCoy was born September 16, 1948, in Marlboro County, SC.  She ended her journey on November 11, 2019 at McLeod Health in Florence, SC.

Geralene attended the Lincoln Elementary School in Clio where she graduated with the class of 1968 and she also attended Chesterfield Marlboro Technical College where she received an Associated Degree in Early Childhood Development.

At an early age, she converted and joined Mt. Tabor Baptist Church.  She was a faithful member and served as the Missionary President, Youth Choir President, Youth Advisor and a member of the Pastor Aide and also sings on the Gospel Choir, Mass Choir and the Senior Choir.

Geralene works many years for different plants; such as BVD in Clio, Spotlight in Bennettsville, Stedman in Maxton, NC and JP Stevenson in Wagram, NC.  She also was a member of the Joppa Chapter No. 25.

Preceding her in death was her mother, Creole Thomas McCoy and her father, James McCoy, three brothers, Luke Allen, Carl E. McCoy and Willie L. McCoy, and two sisters, Edna Lue Hines, and Annie Lue McCall.

She leave to cherish her memories five sons, Willie T. (Julia), Rodney K. (Stephanie), Gerald (Angela), James L. (Dawn) and Ivan, and one daughter, Tanya (Charles), sixteens grandchildren and four great grandchildren and one brother, James McCoy, Jr, and four Sisters, Diane Davis (Dr. Rev. John L. Davis), Creola Easterling (Evers), Jessie L. Moore and Pearlie F. McCall and one sister-in-law, Mary Frances Breeden McCoy and a hosts of nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be held Monday, November 18, 2019 at 2pm at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. The Reverend Kenderick Pearson , Pastor. Interment will follow in the church cemetery..
