John Willie Ford

John W. Ford was born in Bennettsville, SC on December 16, 1947 to the late Luther Ford and Annie Mae Leggett Ford.

He attended the public schools of Marlboro County . He was employed with the House of Raeford in Raeford, NC until his health failed. He attended Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church on occasions.

He departed this life at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC on Tuesday, September 17, 2019.

John and Linda L. Drayton were united in Marriage on December 15, 1968. To this union five children were born.

John was preceded in death by a grandson, Jahmad K. Johnson; his brothers: James A. Ford, Luther Ford, Jr., and LeeVance Ford.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Linda Louise Ford; children: Barbara Ann Ford (Timothy), Angela Ford, Nina Ann Matthews (Robert), John Ford, Jr. of Severn, MD and Andrea Ford of Hope Mills, NC; nine grandchildren: Cassandra Ford, Shanequa Ford, Taeisha Coit, Adarius Ford, Ja’Quez Coit, Zariah McFall, Darrick Smith, and Shanyla Ford; seven great grands; sisters: Betty J. Thomas, Mary Sturdivant (Edward) both of Bennettsville, SC, Hazel Ford of Charlotte, NC, Patricia Zimmerman of Clio, SC, Linda Ford of Bennettsville, SC, Juanita Frazier of Clio, SC, Doris J. Ford, and Ella Ross both of Bennettsville, SC; brothers: Ronnie Ford and Robert Thomas (Betty); a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
