Keshaad Kyree Hicks was born in Bennettsville, SC, on July 13, 2001 to Keith Hicks and Katrina Taylor. He departed this Life on December 6, 2019.
Keshaad was baptized at a young age, he was a member of First Corinthians Missionary Baptist where he served as a junior usher during his youth. When tasked to read scripture he always favored Psalm 100.
Keshaad was educated in the Marlboro County School system. He attended McColl Elementary Middle School where he played the trombone on the band, football, and was a senior at Marlboro County High School. He was affectionately known his friends as “K2” a moniker derived from his first and middle initials.
There was never a dull moment when Keshaad was around. His spontaneous personality and big smile made him the center of family events.
At the age of two, he developed basketball skills that are rarely seen by a child so young, and he was hardly ever caught without a ball in his hands. By the age of eight his ability to play the sport was showcased in recreation games, AAU tournaments, and school championship games that advanced throughout his teen years.
Next to basketball he was a true “dirt bike boy” and was happiest when he was riding and racing with his friends. He loved working with his hands and enjoyed working on anything with an engine. His family meant more to him than anything and he never ended a conversation without saying “I Love You” and if they beat him to it his reply was always “I Love You More”.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his son, Ayden Kyree Hicks of Bennettsville, SC; father Keith L. Hicks of Bennettsville, SC, mother Katrina (Christopher) Taylor of the home; three brothers, DeKarris (Tytianna) Murray, Deon (Mariah) Murray of Bennettsville, SC, and Kedarius Hicks of the home; one sister Kidada Mcollough of Bennettsville, SC; two nieces, Tierra Lowery of Bennettsville, SC and Zakayla McLeod of Maxton, NC; one nephew, Deon Murray, Jr. of Bennettsville, SC; maternal grandparents, Larry and Edna Taylor of Bennettsville, SC; paternal grandparents James “Sticky Weed” and Annie McKinnon of Bennettsville, SC; great grandmother, Doris Hicks of Bennettsville, SC, three aunts Lashawn Taylor and Latonya (Coriethiae) Gee and Semico (Darrow) McRae all of Bennettsville, SC; one uncle Mark Ridges of Bennettsville, SC; godparents Rosa McGill (Benny) of Bennettsville, SC, and Tomeka (Tyrone) Kollock of High Point, NC, a host of great aunts, great uncles, cousins, and friends.
