Martha David Obituary

Mrs. Martha Lee David, daughter of the late John Howard McLean and Della Bertha Purnell was born on June 11, 1952 in Marlboro County.

She was educated in Dillon and Marlboro County School system.

She met and married Willie James David and there were united in holy matrimony on April 5, 1974.

She was converted at an early age and join St. Luke Fire Baptize Holiness which was later change to Word of Life Christian Center. Later, Martha became a member of Community of Grace where she served on the Mother Board. She was dedicated attending church, prayer meetings, and bible study.

Martha departed this life on January 2, 2020.

Left to cherish her memories her husband: Willie James David; son: Leon McLean of Bennettsville, SC; grandson: Cornelius Thomas of Statesboro, GA; four brothers: John L. McLean of Brooklyn, NY, Eddie H. McLean of High Point, NC, Morrison C. McLean, and David W. McLean of Bennettsville, SC; two sisters: Mary (Fred) Rogers and Martha (Charles) McLaurin both of Bennettsville, SC; half-sister: Susie (Prophet) Anderson of Greenville, SC; two step brothers: David Jr. Odom of Clio, SC, and Billy (Millie) Odom of Dillon, SC; three step sisters: Carrie Douglas of Clio, SC, Martha Ann (Patrick) Manning of Little Rock, SC, and Reverend Barbara (Harry) Benjamin of Clio, SC; brothers-in-law: JD (Willie Mae) David of Bennettsville, SC, Gregory (Wanda) David of Florence, SC, Sylvester David of Laurinburg, NC, Arthur David of High Point, NC, Harold David of Savannah, GA, and Mark Ellerbe; sisters-in-law: Martha Gaskin of High Point, NC, Franchester David of Savannah, GA, and Mary (Billy) Rose of Chester, SC; a very special god sister: Dorine Daniels of Wilmington, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

 

The family is receiving friends at 111 Adams Street, Bennettsville.
