Ophelia Ford

A funeral service will be held Sunday, September 29, 2019 at 2pm at Bethea Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Cedar Fall Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ophelia Ford was born to Charlotte Hayes and Alexander Alford.

 Ophelia was converted at an early age and joined Cedar Fall Missionary Baptist Church.

 She was a 1966 graduate of Wright High in Blenheim. After graduating she moved to Newark, NJ where she lived with Mr. and Mrs. Edward McRae and cared for their children while attending Beauty College. Ophelia was licensed stylist in NJ for twenty years and also worked as a life clerk for University Medical Hospital in NJ.

She returned to SC in 1990 and worked several jobs until she met the Drake family. There she was their nanny to four children and received another job with the Burroughs family and both families treated her well.

 In 1993 she married Matthew Ford and remained until her demise.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Matthew Ford; sisters, Barbara Brown; special friend, Evelyn Ford; step daughter, Lashonda Priester (Benjamin); five brothers-in-law and wives; one sister-in-law; a devoted nieces, Charlotte Major; three step sisters, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
