Queen Tillman

Queen Ella Robinson Tillman was born April 7, 1933 in Marlboro County to the late Jack Foster and Bertha Hubbard Robinson. Queen slipped into a peaceful transition on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg, NC.

Queen was educated in the public schools of Marlboro County and accepted Christ into her life at an early age and was united with the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Foster Robinson Jr. and two sisters, Shirley Robinson Goodman and Rosa Lee Robinson.

Queen was a quiet soft spoken person who enjoyed life and being with her family and friends. She was so lovingly  called "Ella Sue" by her family. Queen enjoyed cooking, shopping and socializing. She also spent time with her second family, the McInnis' in which she worked as a caretaker for Dr. David and Mrs. Rhetta McInnis for over thirty years. She was known as "Bird" to Ashleigh, Lynn, Allison, and Lil David. Queen assisted Dr. and Mrs. McInnis in the rearing of their children from childhood to adulthood to include their marriages and the birth of their children. The McInnis family will always have a special place in their hearts for "Bird."

Queen leaves to cherish fond memories to her three sisters, Edith Robinson of High Point, NC; Ruth "Doe" Quick and Millie "Bell" Moses both of Bennettsville, SC; a host of nieces, nep;hews, cousins and friends. She also leaves fond memories to her goddaughter,  Mrs. Angela "Yvonne" Hailey and long time friend and taxi driver, Mr. Walter "Brown"

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 1PM at Bethea Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Ideal Cemetery.
