Welcome to the memorial page for

Rosetta (Dudley) Pegues

December 6, 1943 ~ August 27, 2017 (age 73) 73 Years Old

Rosetta Pegues was born December 6th, 1943 to the late Roland Dudley and Sadie (Jones) Dudley in Laurinburg, NC.

Rosetta attended school in the Scotland County school district through her eighth-grade year, before selflessly leaving school to assist in the care of her siblings in light of the passing of her mother.

Rosetta worked for Springs, Adamsville High School, Marlboro County Drug and Rehab Center and was a Certified Health Care Professional.

Rosetta married Marvin Pegues Jr and from that union was blessed with Sadie Pegues-Brody and Marvin DeMario Pegues.

Rosetta often fellow shipped at Saint Paul AME Zion church and Fletcher Grove Baptist church alongside family members and friends.

Rosetta was a sweet and kind spirit who loved to talk to people, and in turn everyone loved to talk to her. She was a truly genuine soul, and always made each person she spoke with, feel as if she could relate to whatever it was that he or she was going through. Her favorite saying was “Kindness doesn’t cost you a thing.”, and she showed that everywhere she went, whether it was to her family and friends, or to the stranger she met on the street.

Rosetta was preceded in death by her ex husband Marvin Pegues, Jr., Sister, Miss Mary Lois McNeil, and brother Mr. Leonard (Sweetie Boy) McNeil.

Rosetta Pegues departed her earthly walk of life on Sunday, August 27th, 2017 at 73 years of age.

She leaves to treasure her memories: one daughter, Sadie LaKisha Pegues-Brody of Bensalem, PA; one son, Marvin DeMario Pegues of Timmonsville, SC; one daughter-in-law, LaTisha Pegues; three granddaughters, JenTisha Ronique Brody, Kyla Ann Kuber, and Naomi Pegues; two grandsons, Christian Pegues, David Graham; six sisters, Ms. Mary Murray of Laurinburg, NC, Mrs. Lillie (Maxwell) Revels of Hasty, NC, Ms. Peggy Blue of Laurinburg, NC, Ms. Diane Dudley of Laurinburg, NC, Ms. Otelia (Henry) Pipkin of Laurel Hill, NC and Ms. Maxcine Dudley of Brooklyn, NY; two brothers, Bishop Lonzia Dudley of Laurel Hill, NC, Mr.  Roland (Cynthia) Dudley of McColl, SC; dear cousin, Mr. Walter Rogers of Laurinburg, NC; special friends, Ms. Evelyn Williams of McColl, SC, and Mr. Willie Paterson of Bronx, NY; several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
