Sam King Jr.

Mrs. Sam King Jr. son of the late Sam King Sr., and the late Louise Lily King-Pearson was born on March 8, 1942 in Bennettsville, SC. He departed this life on September 17, 2017 at the home of his brother and sister-in-law.

Sam attended the public schools of Marlboro County he was a member of the AME Zion Metropolitan Church of Bennettsville, SC. In 1959 Sam located to Brooklyn, NY and found employment in manufacturing. Sam retired from employment at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NY. Sam enjoyed watching movies and listening to music.

Sam was preceded in death by his brother W. Jerome King; sister-in-law, Shirley King; brother-in-law, Samuel Harvell and a nephew, Jerome King, Jr.

Sam leaves to cherish his memory a close and special friend of many years, Cora Bostic of Brooklyn, NY; one sister, Betty King-Harvell of Bennettsville, SC; one brother Olden Pearson, Jr. (Roxanne) of the home; six nieces, four great-great nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 4pm at Community of Grace Church in Bennettsville. The Reverend Eddie L. Davis, Senior Pastor. Interment will follow in the Ideal Cemetery.

The family is receiving friends at 309 Ayers Street, Bennettsville.
