With profound we announce the passing of Alfonzo Bethea who departed this life December 2, 2021 in Laurinburg, NC

A funeral service will be held Friday, December 10, 2021 at 12pm at Piney Grove United Methodist Church in Maxton, NC. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 7pm until 8pm.

Alfonzo Bethea, age 63 of Richmond, VA, was born to Alice and Jessie Bethea in Laurinburg, NC. Alfonzo departed his life on December 2, 2021 at Morrison Manor in Laurinburg, NC.

He resided in High Point, NC and was employed by TFI Industry for 15 years, then later moved to Richmond, VA. He later moved back home.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Bethea. Two sons, Alfonzo Bethea and LaTroy Bethea. One brother Charles Bethea. Mother-in-law Sis Maggie Kollock.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Nancy Kollock Bethea. Two daughters, Erika Kollock and Precious Kollock. Thirteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Bethea, Alice M. Bethea, and Faye and Rev. Gilbert Athey. One brother, Lorde and Evangelist Ella Patterson. Aunts, Marie and Monroe Harris, Mary and Wendell Washington, Johanna Bethea, and Cleola Parnell. One great aunt Eula Hammer. Five sisters-in-law, Rosa Wallace, Pastor Alien and James David, Evelyn and Russell Wolf, Carolyn Young, and Edith Grace. Brothers-in-law, Arthur Kollock and Ronnie Kollock. One spiritual brother Jimmy Bethea; special best friend Connell Blackmon. Very special cousins Mollie O’Neil and Deborah McCrimmon. A host of niece, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
