Mr. Alonzo Barker, son of the late Sampson and Louise Barker was born of February 11, 1969.
He was converted at an early age and joined the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, and attended the schools of Marlboro County.
Alonzo was a gentle giant to many, and he bothered nobody, always willing to say kind words or asked you about someone that you both knew. Alonzo made his morning transition approximately 4:15 a.m. at his residence.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Barker and brother, Clarence Barker.
Left to cherish memories are: Son, Ajvan Williams of Dillion, SC, grandson, Javon Williams, of McComb, Mississippi. Four sisters: Sherell Barker, Kiairra Barker, Mary McCall all of Bennettsville, SC, and Cynthia (Leonard) Winburn of Richfield, Minnesota. Two brothers: Sammy Better known as "Danny Boy" and Shane Barker of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Six special god-brothers: Jamie, Noel, Eric, Jeffrey, Travis Brown, all of Bennettsville, SC, and Lewis Walton of New Jersey. A nurturing and loving aunt, Mrs. Elease Stanback, one uncle, Roy (Mable) Pratt, of Durham, NC. A very dear and good friend, Kevin Blue, special cousins who were like brothers: Jimmy, Charlie and Furman Stanback and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
