Arthur Brown

Mr. Arthur Prentiss Brown was born April 11, 1936, to the late Fasion and Daisy Brown, here in Bennettsville SC.

Mr. Brown received his education from the public schools of Marlboro County. He was employed at the Department of Transportation until his rightful age of retirement.

At an early age Mr. Arthur Brown Sr. was converted and joined Wesley United Methodist Church and later in life became a member of Saint Paul Baptist Church where he was a member of the men’s choir.

He loved to sing songs of praises to the Lord.

Mr. Brown was a member of the Masonic here in Bennettsville, SC, Golden Eagle Lodge # 392.

Mr. Arthur Brown St is preceded in death by his late wife Mrs. Mable Brown and two daughters Virginia Brown and Mable Brown. One sister Minnie Johnson Bennettsville SC. Three brothers Samuel Brown (Sam), William Brown (Junior), and Lucious Brown (Boot) all of Bennettsville, SC.

Left to cherish his memories are three daughters Diane Byrd (Joho), Valeria Brown, Barbara Brown all of Bennettsville, SC. Three sons Arthur Brown Jr. (Hannah) of Laurel Hill NC, Minister Mitchell (Latarsha) Brown, Michael (Stephanie) Brown all of Bennettsville, SC. Two brothers-in-law Kenny Brown of Bennettsville, SC, and Wallace Mack of Southern Pines. Three sisters-in-laws Dorothy Thomas of Bennettsville, SC, Betty of Bennettsville, SC, and Margaret McCall of Wallace, SC. Twenty-three grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
