Arthur Easterling (Sobek, Gator, Little Bear, Bobby) was born on June 2, 1941 in Hebron community in Marlboro County. He attended and graduated East Side High School. After completion of high school Bobby pursued his career path as a professional truck driver, in which he drove for companies such as Mercury and Jevic Transportation INC. from which he retired. Bobby passions were his family, travel, farming, and of course shopping for fine suits. He enjoyed gathering with family and friends. He was the life of every family function. He loves to see his family laughing and just enjoying life.
He was a member of Spears United Methodist Church and after the church merger he became a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Bobby had a higher understanding of biblical teachings. This higher comprehension lead to a giving spirit and as a pillar in his community he found it necessary for young men to look presentable. Bobby made charity the pillar of his adult life and will be missed for the many gifts and wisdom he gave to many.
Proceeding him in death were his parents, Willie Easterling and Maxie Smith, Aunt Elease Deese, brother James Henry Easterling, Uncle John L. Smith, James Smith, Alton “Bozo” Smith, Doug Smith, Fred Smith.
Bobby leaves his devoted wife Dora “Dora Bell” Easterling, his children; Karen Douglas, Kimberly Easterling, Roderick Easterling (Ali Baba Heru), Stephanie Easterling and God sons Barry and Kenneth Mcleod. Siblings Willie Jr. Easterling, Jane Ann Claire, George Easterling, Jackie Easterling. Grandkids Nakeysha Easterling, Aisha Easterling, IV Douglas, Derrick Douglas, Saadiqa Bint-Ali, Pietro Easterling, Mary Easterling, and a host of great grands, and loving cousins. Special friends William “Bill” Coachman, Wallace Douglas.
