With profound sorrow we announce the passing of Arthur Stuckey who departed this life September 2, 2021 at his residence.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 1pm at Green Pond Church of God in Christ.
Arthur Stuckey Jr. AKA “Big Joe” was born January 4, 1960, in Marlboro County to the late Malcolm “Mack” Stuckey and mother Eula Stuckey.
He attended the public schools of Marlboro County.
He departed this life on Thursday morning September 2, 2021, at his home sound asleep in bed.
Big Joe was an autobody and paint man, which he loved doing. He enjoyed doing work outside and the freedom to move around as he pleased. This trade that he learned, he learned from is father Mack Stuckey.
He also enjoyed sitting under the tree talking to the guys and his other when she was alive. If there was a five to make, he will make one every day.
In 1983 he met Cheryl Denise McRae and they were united into matrimony on January 16, 1991. Big Joe and Cheryl was blessed with 30 years of marriage. To this union two children were born Dontrell Arthur McRae and Delia Cherie Stuckey. She became his Cheryl, and he became her Joe.
Cheryl said, “Although he’s gone, no matter what: He is still my Joe”.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Cheryl McRae Stuckey. Their children, son Dontrell McRae of Bennettsville, SC, his daughter Delia Cherie Stuckey of Florence, SC. Daughter Erica Renae Thomas of High Point, NC. Sister Nellie (Jenny) Stuckey who called him BAE. Three grandchildren: Caseya McCall, LaMya Pearson, and Avani. Father-in-law Howard (Almeta) McRae and mother-in-law Eva Frances (James) Green of Bennettsville, SC. Brothers-in-law: Milton McRae, Dennis (Sheila) McRae. Sisters-in-law: Erica Green and Barbara (Elliot) Moore all of Bennettsville, SC. Four aunts, Emma Spears, Sadie Staton, Sherly (Larry Quick), and Lillie Quick. Three uncles: Hubert Quick, Leroy Staton, and Earl Pearson. His son’s pastor Arthur Teal (LaDawn) Pearson of High Point, NC. Special friends: Big O, Joseph Viccora. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
