With profound sorrow we announce the passing of Carrie Douglas who departed this life September 12, 2023.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, September 17, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Southern Grove Baptist Church, Rowland, NC. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Carrie Mae Douglas of Clio, SC was born on October 2, 1951, to the late Mary Jane McLean and Bill Odom. She departed this life on September 12, 2023.

She received her education at the Dillon County Public Schools.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Henry Douglas; one son Mickell Douglas; one grandson Markese Alford; one great granddaughter Jalaya Morrison; three brothers David Jr. Odom, Ezzard Charles Odom, and James Robert Odom; one sister Martha Lee David; brothers-in-law Willie Neal Douglas, James Douglas, and Westly Douglas.

Carrie Mae Douglas leaves to cherish her memoires with her four daughters: Diane Odom, Sharon (Lawrence) Douglas of Clio, SC, Marcella Douglas of High Point, NC, and Audria Douglas of Dillon, SC; four sons: William (Shaquita) Odom of Dillon, SC, Christopher (Linda) Douglas of High Point, NC, Michael (Shawn) Douglas of Bennettsville, SC, and James Douglas of Clio, SC; five sisters: Rev. Barbara (Harry) Benjamin of Clio, SC, Martha (James) Manning of Dillon, SC, Mary Lee (Fred), Martha Lou (Charles) McLaurin of Bennettsville, SC, and Susie Mae (Damond K, Sr.) Anderson of Greenville, SC; five brothers: Billy (Millie) Odom of Dillon, SC, Morrison McLean, David McLean of Bennettsville, SC, John Luther McLean of NY, and Eddie Howard McLean of Greensboro, NC; three sisters-in-law: Sandra Douglas, Ruth Douglas, and Sarah (Joseph) Redfern of High Point, NC; brothers-in-law: Mack (Velois) Douglas of Raleigh, NC, Jerry (Carrie) Dougals, Michael Douglas of High Point, NC, Foster Douglas of VA, Jerome (Michell) Douglas of Darlington, SC, Kim Douglas of Charlotte, NC; thirty-nine grandchildren; fifty-two great grands; two great-great grands; a host of nieces and nephews; five godchildren: Shermeka (James) Johnson, Quadaline Johnson, Vet Johnson, Sharonda Johnson, Michael Johnson of Dillon, SC; special friend Eva Mae McRae of Clio, SC, other relatives and friends.
