Charles McRae Sr. Obituary

Charles Alvin McRae, Sr was the son of James (Red) and Lannie McRae. He was born on March 18th, 1955 in Marlboro County SC. He was the 9th Child of 14. On May 20, 2020, he transitioned from this life and entered into eternal life.

Charles McRae was educated in the Marlboro County Public School System; he joined the Job Corps where he learned the trade for mechanical engineering. He moved to Washington DC in 1977.  He was employed by UniFirst Industrial Laundry Service as a mechanical engineer for 30-years. He took pride in his work and his family.

Charles met and Married Barbara Bacon in 1987. From this union, God blessed them with three children.

Charles Love for his family was his first priority. He loved spending time with his family. He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed listening to oldies but Goodies. His grandchildren were the love of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James (Red) and Lannie McRae, one Sister, Bernice Willis and one brother Phillip McRae.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Barbara McRae; three sons, Damien, Charles Jr, Daquan; Two Daughters, Shalanda and Timeka one step daughter Carla (MoMo); Six Grandsons, Demetrice, DeAundre; Five Grand­ daughters;  Camoni, Destini, Cannie, Camille and a  Special Friend Seleda Hall. Five Brothers; James Robert, Jr (Pearline}, James (Henrietta}, Freddie (Sara}, Hamer (Ethel) and Dewitt; Seven Sisters; Creola, Christine, Emma (Al), Margaret, Carrie, Winnie, Mary (Lee) Seven Sister In Laws; Three Brothers-in-law, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and friends.
