Mr. Charles Phillip Stewart, affectionately known as “TeeWee”, departed his earthly life on Saturday, September 16, 2023.  Born on September 08, 1953, Charles is the son of the late Willie B. Stewart Jr. and the late Ella Gee Stewart Moore.

At an early age, Charles accepted Jesus Christ as His Savior and became a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Bennettsville, South Carolina.

Charles received his early education in the Bennettsville, South Carolina public school system and was a graduate of the Class of 1973.  Throughout his schooling, Charles was known for his athleticism, specifically as a proud High School Linebacker and would later become unapologetically a fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

After graduation, Charles enlisted in the United States Army and served his country with honor and dignity.  Following his years of service, Charles returned to South Carolina where he was known by many as a professional painter and also worked in the manufacturing and textile industries. He was simply a hard worker, a jack of all trades, who was not afraid to get his hands dirty and always willing lend a helping hand.

In his personal life, Charles was married to the late Doris Anderson of McCall, South Carolina. He is preceded in death by one brother, Willie C. Robinson (Shirlene) of Bennettsville, South Carolina.

Charles is survived by his loving son, Travis and his wife, Tysheeka Stewart of Indian Trail, NC, one step-daughter Catina Anderson of Bennettsville, SC, one grandson , Tylik German of Concord, NC and one God son, Reverend Quan Stewart of Wilmington, NC, three brothers, Wendell Stewart (Washington, DC), Melvin Stewart (Catlettsburg, KY) and Buddy Stewart (Atlanta, GA); five sisters, Gwendolyn (Benjamin) Fore (Bennettsville, SC), Canarie (Edward) Smith (Norfolk, VA), LaShandra Douglas (Bennettsville, SC), Inez (Luther) Davis (Greenbelt, MD) and Tasha Sims (Fredericksburg, VA), as well as, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
