Christopher Bridges Sr. born January 18, 1970 to Martha McLeod Bridges and the late Robert Bridges.
He was a native of Bennettsville SC. He graduated class of 1988 from Clio High School. He married his loving, devoted wife Teressa Annette Thomas on August 15, 1998 and together they have two children Shantasia and Christopher.
Chris was a loving husband, father, and an amazing Papa.
Chris was protective of his family and he loved his grandchildren so much! Chris affectionately known as “Gutta Gutta” was a music mastermind with his profound lyrics and creative metaphors and was a motivated entrepreneur. He was a strong influential voice in his community and is remembered as a legend. Chris loved sports and was a strong-willed sports debater, analyst, and commentator. He also was a champ at playing checkers. Everyone looked forward to hearing Chris’ slangs and sayings. One of the most loved saying was “I Been Razor Blade”. Chris believed in God’s Work and God’s Plan and was very strong in His belief.
On Thursday March 4, 2020 Christopher departed his life at his residence and will forever be missed.
He is preceded in death by his father Robert Bridges and nephews Razell Bridges and Tysean McCall.
He leaves to Cherish his memories his wonderful loving wife of 22 years Elder Teressa “Cat” Bridges, mother Pastor Martha McLeod Bridges, two children Shantasia “Crissy” (Pastor Derrionta) Reaves and Christopher SaQuan Bridges, three grandchildren Kytrell, Derriyah and Derrionta II (Deuce) Reaves, one sister Lisa McCollough, three brothers Pastor Robbie Bridges, Timothy(Wanda) Bridges, Fabian Sr. (Nakita) Bridges, Mother-in-law Gertrude Thomas (Carl), brother-in-law Tyronne Thomas, godmother Gloria(Charles) Ellerbe, and godson Keandre Prince along with his many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. As well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 12pm at the Berea Baptist Convention Center. Interment will follow in the Hillside Memorial Park in Laurinburg, NC. Seating for the service is limited and face coverings are required.
