Clarence Davis Jr.

Clarence “Bear” Davis, Jr., was the son of Clarence “Pa” Davis, Sr. and Jessie “Nuncie” Purvis Davis was born on January 25, 1956 in Bennettsville, SC.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister Patricia Douglas; two brothers Stevie and Michael Davis.

On Sunday, January 23, 2021 Bear departed this life at McLeod Hospital in Cheraw, SC, to gain entrance to his heavenly home.

As a child his family was a member to St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Bennettsville, SC.

Bear as he was known by his classmates by the love of sports. He was a big as a bear walk like a bear and a beast on the basketball court. Bear graduated in the class of “75 in the Marlboro Public School where he was loved by many.

Bear had many jobs, Bunch Nursery, Cutter Farms, but he was employed at Pilgrims Pride in Marshville NC for eleven years until his health failed him.

Left to cherish his memories one daughter Latasha (Ramon) Peguer of Gulfport, Mississippi; one son Dylan Christopher Davis of Cheraw, SC; four grandchildren Samuel Ray Sasser, Damon Josiah La’Niah, and Christian Peguer all of Gulfport, Mississippi. Four brothers, Robert (Arbadella) Davis, Billy (Peggy) Davis, Larry (Lillie) Davis and Jimmy Davis all of Bennettsville, SC. Two aunts, Patricia Ann Littles and Mary Ann Davis. One brother-in-law, Ben Douglas. One sister-in-law, Sandra Davis all of Bennettsville, SC. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
