Elease Townsend

Mrs. Elease A. Townsend was born September 7, 1929 in Marlboro County, SC. She was the daughter of the late Lou Bertha Jacobs Adams and Ernest Adams.

Elease joined Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church early in life for her spiritual enrichment. She loved singing on the Senior choir and entertaining her family and friends.

Elease was employed at Marlboro Park Hospital, Bennettsville, SC over 50 years, where she retired.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kinney Townsend; son, Johnny Townsend; sister, Mary H. Adams; brothers, Charles Adams, Benjamin Adams, and Jacob Adams.

On July 19, 2020 at Dundee Nursing Home in Bennettsville, SC she departed her life.

Elease leaves to cherish her fond memories two brothers, Ernest Adams (Cleo) of Wallace, SC, and Troy Adams; sister-in-law, Mildred Adams of Bennettsville, SC; step daughter, Teliscia Little (Eric); three grandchildren, Cedric Little, Derrick Little, and Eric Little, Jr. all of Bennettsville, SC; seven nieces and nephews she help raised as her own, Bobby Adams of the home, Bennettsville, SC, Teresa Miles of Columbia, SC, James R. Adams of Clio, SC, Troy Adams of Bennettsville, SC, Betty Adams of Brooklyn, NY, Mary Adams, of Bennettsville, SC, Robert Reaves of Elizabeth City, NC. A host of other nieces, nephews, close relatives, and friends.
