Elois McLaughlin Cain was born on May 8, 1952 to the late Alonzo and Almenia McLaughlin in Marlboro County. She is proceeded in death by four sisters: Mary Grace Bethea, Margaret McRae, Carrie McLaughlin, and Ella Frances (Ulysses) McArthur; two brothers: CB (Barbara) McLaughlin and Joseph McLaughlin; and one grandson: Robert Lee Cain III.
On Wednesday, December 9, 2020, in Dillion, South Carolina at McLeod Regional Medical Center, God called Elois to exit her earthly home and enter her heavenly home.
Elois accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and joined Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Clio, S.C. Later in life, she joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Bennettsville, South Carolina. She received her education from the Marlboro County Public School District; graduating in the Clio High School Class of 1970.
Elois was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Robert Lee Cain Sr. on July 31, 1971. To this union five children were born.
Elois was employed as a machine operator at the United Technology Plant (Essex) in Bennettsville, South Carolina for 26 years. She was later employed at Perdue Farms in Dillon, South Carolina for 14 years. After her retirement, she loved babysitting her grandchildren.
She loved watching NBA basketball games with her husband. Her all-time favorite player was LeBron James. She also loved dancing and listening to gospel music. She devoted her life to cooking and taking care of her family. Her family was the most important thing to her and she went above and beyond to take care of them.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her five loving children: Robercena Cain of Columbia, South Carolina, Nicole Cain, Robert (Iris) Cain Jr. , Ava Cain, and Kayanna Cain (Quinn Thomas) all of Bennettsville, South Carolina; one brother, David (Patricia) McLaughlin of Clio, S.C., one sister Martha Nell McLaughlin of Clio, S.C.; one brother-in-law, Michael Cain; six sister-in-laws, Beulah McLaughlin of McColl, S.C., Pernetha (Edward) McKiver, Florencena (Eddie) McLain, Reverend Lori (Joe) Moses, Julia Cain all of Bennettsville, S.C., and Nancy Cain of Darlington, S.C; one special nephew, Sherman McLaughlin; eleven grandchildren: Jacinda Platt, Timyra Bradford, Trashon Cain, Trinity Baldwin, Garyon Fanning, Adorrie Cain, Aarin Smith, Icis McGuire, Kaylynn Thomas, Quionne York Jr., and Elijah Thomas; one great-grandson: JaRius Maggette; three special little ones,who she loved like her own grandchildren, LaDarrion Malachi, James Purvis, and Jared Ratliff.
