Eloise Wilson Obituary

Eloise Wilson was born in Marlboro County on December 23, 1931 to Katie Wilson. She was educated in Marlboro County Public Schools.

At an early are she joined Dyers Hill AME Zion Church. At a young age Elouise moved to New York, where she worked for over thirty years in the Woodhill Hospital Systems.

She retired in the 90’s and moved back to Bennettsville, with her husband Raymond Deloatch.

She rejoined the Dyers Hill AME Choir and served on the Kitchen Committee.

She even got a driver’s license. Eloise had a sharp mind and a sense of humor right up until her death. If she wanted something to be done her way that is the way it was done, no exceptions. Her favorite pass time was playing Bingo.

Eloise was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Deloatch; daughter, Gilda Ray, Ella Nora Wilson, and Cynthia D. Wilson; sisters: Katie M. Wilson, Margaret Wilson, and Cynthia D. Wilson; brother, Levester Wilson.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving son Larry Wilson (Viola) of Dunn, NC; daughter Barbara Jennings of Brooklyn, NY; son-in-law Joseph Ray of Dunn, NC; grandchildren: Larry Wilson, Jr., Joseph Ray, Jr., Jeffrey Ray, Germaine Greene, Gregory Green, James Jennings, Shayna Wilson, Renae Knight, and Tonia Davis; nieces: Sharon Wilson, Phyllis Thomas, and Shirley Thomas; great nephew, James Wilson; special friends: Avone Kinley, Theodora Kinley, Ernestine Moore, Karen Clark, Gloria Brown, Robert O’Neal, Lillie Bradford, Alice and Larry Miller, Dyers Hill Church Family; extended family: Adele “Cookie” Lynn, Daisy “Sookie Sookie” Cole, Shirley Littles, Sylvia Littles, and Jimmy Thomas.
