Eugene (Gene, EC) Cook, the son of the late Joshua Cook and Pearletha Campbell Cook was born September 25, 1940 in Marlboro County, SC and Transitioned on December 15, 2020 at Scotland Memorial Hospital, Laurinburg, NC.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church-Bennettsville and was converted at an early age. He was quiet in church, but looked forward to getting to church on Sunday mornings for our early morning "PRAYER, PRAISE and WORSHIP'' service.
Eugene was educated in the public schools of Marlboro County, and attended Lincoln High School in Clio, SC. As a member of the class of 1962, he served as a bus driver, more specifically the Activity School Bus Driver. He was entrusted by our school administrators with our most precious gift (Our Children) making sure they were safe as they traveled across the state of South Carolina accident free. Thanks be to God!
He worked for Mohawk and Galey & Lord Industries, but most of all he enjoyed working in the field of construction.
He was married to Gloria Parnell.
He is preceded by his brothers: Franklin, Lee Grant, Earl, Roy C. and a sister, Lucille C. Covington, along with a very beloved grandson Derrick Maurice St. Claire Baldwin.
Those left to cherish his memories are Gloria, his wife of 57 years, Son Derrick, daughter Sharon LaSonya C. Allen and granddaughter, Kendell Simone Allen of Tampa FL; great grandson, Jesiah Baldwin of Bennettsville, SC; a loving, caring and devoted sister, Gladys C. Breeden (James "Bill" Breeden) of Clio, SC; Sisters-in-law, Earnestine A. Cook of Bennettsville, and Annie L. Parnell Southerland of Brooklyn, NY, brothers-in-law, James Parnell, Levance Parnell (Alice O'Neil Parnell) all of High Point NC and a host of nieces, nephews; three special cousins; Leila Johnson, Frances Moody and Sara R. Lee, other relatives and friends.
