Mrs. Gloria Jean Brown, 66, gained her angel wings on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, with her family by her side at MUSC.
Mrs. Gloria Jean Brown was born on May 3, 1956, in Blenheim, SC, to Mrs. Clara O. Dupree and the Late Mr. James Thompson. She was educated in the public schools of Marlboro County. She was a graduate of Blenheim High School. At an early age, she joined Cedar Fall Baptist Church.
Mrs. Gloria Jean Brown was united in Holy wedlock to the late Mr. Jackie Brown. To this union four daughters were born. This allowed Mrs. Gloria to accomplish what she wanted in life – to love, be loved, and to have a family of her own. Family was important to her. She was loved by everyone who knew her. She was a supportive, gentle, and loving woman full of compassion, understanding, and life. She never met a stranger.
Mrs. Gloria Jean Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Jackie Brown, father, James Thompson, stepfather, Johnnie Dupree, four brothers, Moses, Jeremiah, Charles, and Albert Ocean, and one sister, Dorothy Ann Ocean Watson.
Those left to cherish Mrs. Gloria’s memories are her four daughters, Tiffonie Brown, Natasha Brown, Sorrelle Brown, and LaTonya (Terrance) Boatwright; mother, Clara Ocean Dupree; two sisters – Geraldine Ocean and Rebecca Ocean; two sisters-in-law, Annie Ocean and Ella Brown, one brother-in-law, Willie Evans (Nancy) Brown, five grandsons, Tyrei’ (Alishia) Boatwright, Ta’Vion Boatwright, Sha’Quarri Brown, Ra’Shiem Stanton, and Ja’Siel Walton, one granddaughter, La’Tyseau Boatwright and one great granddaughter, Ah’Lonee Boatwright; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
