Jacqueline Cook was born on August 26, 1962, in Bennettsville, South Carolina to the late Deloris McManus and the late Karl Barton. Jackie, as she was affectionately known as departed this life on Monday, February 8, 2021, in her home with her loving children by her side.
Jackie attended school in Marlboro County SC and was a proud graduate of Bennettsville High Schools- Class of 1980.
At an early age, she found God and was baptized at Spears United Methodist Church (now known as Trinity United Methodist Church).
For 20 years, Jackie was a very compassionate CNA who loved and cared for the elderly until her health declined. Jackie was a very quiet and private person who loved handbags.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, her stepfather Albert McManus, as well as her stepsister Ella McManus Ham.
In departing, she leaves to cherish her memories are her three daughters; Shemeka Cook of Charlotte NC, Sharonaca and Chiqita Cook, both of Greensboro NC. Three grandsons; Je’Von and Jalen Purvis both of Charlotte NC, and Julian Cook of Greensboro. One sister Barbara (Khris) Wilson of Charlotte NC, four brothers; Marcus (Carolyn) Cook, Sedric (Monika) Cook, Anthony McManus all of Charlotte NC, Derrick McManus of Murfreesboro TN, John L. McManus of MD, and El C. McManus of Roanoke VA. One aunt, Thomasena Williams of Brooklyn NY. Four uncles; James Smith of Bennettsville SC, Larry (Yvette) Cook of Gastonia NC, Thomas Cook of Charlotte NC, and Bayon (Jean) Cook of Atlanta Georgia. Two special friends, Tracie Kassim and Jackie Bostic; both of High Point NC. She also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends.
