Wednesday, March 2, 2022, the heavenly host began to rejoice when James Anthony McLean took an exit from this world, and made his entrance into eternity to be forever with the Lord. Anthony was born in Brooklyn, NY to William McLean and the late Geraldine McLean. He attended school in South Carolina, while staying with his grandparents. He graduated from Clio High. While growing up in Clio, he was loved and surrounded with aunts, uncles, and cousins that loved him so very much, spending lots of time with him.
Upon graduation, Anthony moved to Charlotte, NC to pursue better jobs and opportunities. He was employed as a Facilities Maintenance tech with several companies. He enjoyed fixing and installing. Amongst his interests and activities, were shooting pool and studying martial arts. James was a great conversationalist. He could talk to you as long as you wanted about almost any subject. He was very supportive of the accomplishments and abilities of his siblings. Also, he enjoyed family gatherings for any occasion.
Within the last couple of years, after accepting Jesus Christ into his life, Anthony was very expressive and excited about his personal relationship with the Lord. His faith and hope in God would comfort him as he began to suffer in his body. He knew and proclaimed that God is able. He once so gallantly stated, “I’m not gonna worry, I have hope.” Now, with no more sickness, no more pain, James Anthony is safe in the arms of the Lord.
He leaves to await the coming of the Lord, his father, Pastor William McLain, of Charlotte, NC. Two sisters: Stephanie McLain and Vicki McLain of Charlotte, NC. One brother: Sheldon McLain (Linda) of Washington, NC. Four nephews and one niece: Christopher, Victor, Scott, Devin, and Victoria, all of Charlotte, NC. Three aunts: Aunt Esther, Eleanor, and Brenda of various locations. Three uncles: Eddie (Teresa), Theodore (Shirley), Ulysses (Ola) of various locations, and a host of cousins, and friends he has made along the way.
