Jay Williams (Junior), was born on November 23, 1948 in Latta, South Carolina to the late John Henry Williams and Priscilla Kelly Williams. He departed this earthly life and entered into eternal glory on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Florence McLeod Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina.
Jay was married to the lovely Julia Margaret Buie on July 17, 2004. He was educated in the public schools of Latta, South Carolina. He attended Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina.
Jay was the proud owner of Pro Steam Professional Cleaning Services, LLC and provided services to his customers for over thirty years. Jay had a loving kind heart for people and enjoyed serving his community with a “BIG SMILE”. Jay was a member of Syrian Baptist Church in McColl, South Carolina. Jay served as a Deacon for Syrian Baptist Church and served as a Secretary for the Berea Building Arm at the Berea Baptist Convention Center. Jay was a faithful member of the Joint Stock Lodge.
Jay leaves to cherish his loving memories, his devoted wife, Julia Margaret Williams; four children: Rev. Dr. Alice Hailey-Singleton (Step-daughter) of Sumter, SC; Tietra Williams (Daughter) (Stephen) Jones of Atlanta, Georgia; Jay Derek Williams (Son), and E. Jay Hailey, Jr. (Step-son); two brothers and three sisters: Annie B. (James) Tisdale of Abbeville, SC., Ret. SFC Leroy (Shirlene) Williams of Fayetteville, NC., Nellie A. (Thomas) Allen of Bennettsville, SC., Ret. SFC Timothy L. (Pamela) Williams of New Orleans, LA., Alice V. (James) McCall of High Point, NC., and four special grands: Princess Singleton and Ralph Javonie Singleton (Step-grands) of Sumter SC., Micah Jones and Micaiah Jones (Grandchildren) of Atlanta, Georgia; three sister-in-laws and five brother-in-laws. He has a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and other relatives.
