Jerry Leach

Jerry Lee Leach son of Mr. Ernest and Mattie Young Leach departed his life on February 24, 2020 at McLeod Medical Center in Florence, SC. Jerry was born in Raleigh, NC on December 20, 1961.

He was educated in the County Public School System an after graduating High School. He went on the NC State University and Hard Bargen Business College where he earned a degree in Applied Science Accounting in 1991. He also worked for Wake County Library as driver/clerk.

Jerry moved to Bennettsville, SC in 1997, he continued his learning ability and attended Marlboro County School District Institute and earned his Teacher Training Certificate in 2005. He was an outspoken person. He spoke what was on his mind; you had to get to know him personally, because you would think he was an unkind person. He was a kindhearted, and a generous person. Always trying to help someone.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Jean Leach.

Jerry is survived by his mother, Mattie Leach of the home; father, Ernest Leach, Jr. (Pearlie) of Raleigh, NC; sister, Lisa Johnson; cousins and friend called his sisters, Barbara Winston, Lula Lunsford, Phyllis Williams of Raleigh, NC, Joyce Brown of Bennettsville, SC; aunts, Vermell Thomas, Pearl McCollum, Mary McCullers, Sadie Walters of Raleigh, NC, Helen Alexandria (Donald) of Fayetteville, NC, Hattie Welch of Baltimore Maryland; uncles, Edward Jones (Carlene) of Raleigh, NC, Roosevelt Young of Newport, VA, Donald Young (Ella) of Atlanta, GA, John Alford (Catherine) of Dillon, SC, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends including a special friend Doris Prince.
