Joann Lloyd Townsend

Joann Lloyd Townsend was born on February 7, 1949 in Marlboro County, South Carolina. She is the daughter of the late Earnest Townsend, Catherine McLaughlin M. Townsend, Lougenia Lloyd Manning and the late Samuel McCall.

 Joann attended the Public Schools in the Clio Community.

 Joann was employed at SOPAKCO and BVD companies, also she was a caregiver to several children  in the Clio and Dillion communities.

 At a early age she was converted and joined New St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church. Later in life she joined St. Peters. AME Zion Church.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Elizabeth Lloyd, Katie Bethea and brother LC Lloyd and a special daughter, Niece Tawanna Townsend.

On September 29, 2020 Joann answered the master called at Scotland Memorial Hospital.

She leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Laugenia L. Manning of Bennettsville, SC; three daughters/ nieces that was reared in the home Selina Townsend (Shawn) of Dillon, SC, Tiffany (David) Hayden of Clio, South Carolina, Yolanda (Michael) Drake of McColl, SC; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; seven sisters: Shirley (Kennedy) Young of Clio, SC, Carolyn Lloyd of Jersey City, NJ, Geraldine (Curtis) Hill, Myra (Anthony) Mauricio, Angela Manning of Bennettsville, SC and Evan Manning of Raleigh, NC, and Patricia Frazier of Myrtle Beach; four brothers Michael Lloyd, Angelo and Calvin Manning all of Bennettsville, SC, Elder Roosevelt Townsend of Buffalo, NY; one sister-in-law Mary Lloyd of Bennettsville, SC. A special niece Amanda Townsend; a special nephew David Townsend; a special devoted and loving friend James McLeod, Jr. also additional friend Bertha Alford. One special cousin Priscilla B. Primus. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and close friends.
