Leonard Charles Johnson also known as “Pig” was born November 17, 1952 in Marlboro County. He was the son of the late Thelma Lester Johnson and Lindburg Johnson.
At an early age he joined Syrian Baptist Church and later became a member of New Pee Dee Baptist Church where he attended until his health failed. Leonard was a person who knew his bible well.
Leonard was a graduate of McColl High School and was employed by Powell Manufacturing, Walker Construction and State Utilities.
He was preceded in death by his twin boys James and John Johnson and a brother James Covington.
Leonard leaves to cherish his memory his children Marcus of Winston Salem, NC, Leroy (April) of Columbia, SC and Sherron of Winston Salem, NC; sisters Deborah (Melvin) McLaurin and Margaret (Blair) Chambers; an uncle Henry Johnson; and a special grandson raised in the home, Rodriguez Jackson; eight additional grandchildren whom he loved dearly and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
