Margaret Miles Obituary

Margaret Emma Miles was born January 28, 1952, in Clio, South Carolina to the union of the late Mrs. Hattie Mae and Zannie Hailey. She was called home on January 11, 2022, at McLeod Health Cheraw, Cheraw South Carolina.

Margaret Emma accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member at Cedar Fall Missionary Baptist Church.  She also loved attending various churches to serve the Lord.  She received her education in the public school of Marlboro County and obtained her GED later in life.  She retired from United Technology.

Mrs. Margaret Emma was a very kind-hearted woman, and no one was a stranger to her.  She loved to laugh and make others laugh with her.  She operated in the Spirit of Encouragement by displaying her unique ability to help others gain a positive emotional and spiritual perspective on their situation.

Wherever she went she always made people feel comfortable and wanted to be around her.  Her favorite phrase was “Tell the Lord Thank You.”  She was very independent despite battling her own physical limitations and would never let it get her down.  She was a true source of encouragement by sharing the word of God “verbally” when needed and a true source of encouragement “visually” because seeing her pressing against her own physical limitation was a reminder to complain less.

She was united in holy matrimony to Tom W Miles and to this union they were blessed with one child where they fellowship together at Cedar Fall Missionary Baptist Church.

Emma leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Helena Thomas-West (Charles West) of Bennettsville, SC and Tomy Renee Miles of Summerville, SC.  Five brothers: Willie Dee Hailey (Catherine) of High Point, NC, Roy Hailey (Sylvia) of Wallace, SC, Jerry (Rose) of McColl. Bill Hailey (Angela) and Zannie Eugene of Bennettsville, SC, and One sister: Tryphine Hailey of High Point, NC; one grandchild by marriage, two sister- in- laws and host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Siblings who preceded her in death: Cliffton Hailey of Clio, SC, Bobby Hailey of Bennettsville, SC, Martha Ann Frost of Detroit, MI.
