Margurite McCall

Margurite McCall, daughter of the late Walter "Sonny" Mack and the late Fannie Fortune, was born July 25, 1948, in Bennettsville, SC. She departed this life May 11, 2023.

Margurite received her education in the public schools of Marlboro County and went on to further her education and became employed by Cheraw Heath Care Systems as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 15 years.

She studied with Jehovah's Witnesses and acquired adequate knowledge of the Holy Scriptures.

She was united in marriage to the late Oscar McCall and from this union six children were born.

She's preceded in death by three children: Patricia Fortune, Frederick McCall, and Dionne McCall. Six sisters: Jessie Mae Taylor, Ethel Lee Fortune, Maxine Brown, Irene Rice, Mable Brown, and Dorothy Thomas, and two brothers Frank Fortune and Kenny Brown.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Margaret Jackson (Kelvin) of Society Hill, SC, Oscar James Fortune (Blanche) of Bennettsville, SC, and Demetria Stanback (Timothy) of the home; two stepdaughters Wanda Cash of Columbia, SC and Denise Ford (William) of Youngstown, OH, eleven grandchildren: Danielle Cash, Shequema Dease, Keniasha Washington, Tanise Williams, Kevin Washington, Tymeek Hubbard, Kelvin Jackson, Octavia Fortune, Shaniyah Lowery, Timothy Stanback, Jr., and Quintasia McLaurin who was reared as her own, ten great-grand children, two sisters Novella Moore of Cleveland, OH and Mary Jones of Bennettsville, SC, a special nephew, Charles Fortune of Bennettsville, SC, special nieces include Ernestine Fortune, Wanda Fortune, Jo Ann Etheridge, Merci Lewis, and Audrey McCall and a sister-in-law Betty Jackson of Cheraw, SC, and a host of family and friends.
