Mary P McRae

Reverend Mary L. P. McRae was born Mary Louise Poe on April 17, 1948 to the late Donnie and Maggie (Moore) Poe. 

She attended the Marlboro County School System. She graduated from Adamsville High School in 1966. She would later further her education by attending NETC in Cheraw, SC where she received an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Development. 

Mary attended St. Paul AME Zion church and later joined Greater Fair Plain AME Zion Church.  She accepted Christ as her savior at the age of 26. She was called into the ministry and would preach her initial sermon on Sept. 20, 1999. She could quite a scripture without using her bible. Mary loved the Lord and loved to serve Him.

She was married to Willie D. McRae, Jr.  for 52 years and to this union they were blessed with four children. 

God called his devoted servant home on August 10, 2020.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister Eva Benjamin; three brothers Theodore, John and Willie Poe; and her baby girl Teressa.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 52 years Willie of the home; one daughter Cynthia Sanders of McColl, SC; two sons  Richard (Karen) McRae of Bennettsville, SC;  Brian McRae of Duluth GA; one son- in-law Dale Woods; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one great grandchild,  Destiny Sanders of the home; sisters Lillie  Manning of Washington DC; Anne Reid and Annie Hodges of Bennettsville, SC, brothers  Fred McLaurin and Willie Johnson of Bennettsville, SC; brothers-in-law. Bobbie (Carol) McRae of Bennettsville, SC, James (Lula)  McRae, Roger McRae of McColl, SC; sisters-in-law Apostle Ida McRae, Apostle Gracie  (Willie) Moore of McColl, and a host of  nieces, nephews, family and friends.
