Mason McInville Obituary

With profound sorrow we announce the passing of Mason McInville who departed this life December 26, 2021 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held Friday, December 31, 2021 at 12 at the Berea Convention Center.

 

Mason Mclnville, 84, of Bennettsville passed away December 26th, 2021, following a long illness.

Mason was born August 13, 1937, in Bennettsville, South Carolina.

He was 1 of 9 children born to Robert and Mammie (Stewart) Mclnville.

He was raised in Bennettsville and lived there until joining The United States Air Force in October 1954.

He retired from the Air Force in 1974 after serving 20 years. After retiring he moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa where he worked for Brazos Trucking.

He moved to Kansas City Missouri where he worked for the U.S. Post Office in the "caves" until his health forced him to retire.

He moved to St. Augustine Florida for a short time before returning to Bennettsville until his death.

Mason enjoyed fishing, horse racing, going to Las Vegas and spending time with his family. He had a very giving heart. If you needed help and he was able to provide it, he would no questions asked.

Mason was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Mae Bell Perkins, Barbra Nibbe, Mayme Mclnville, Virginia Mclnville; brothers Norman, James, and infant brother Mclnville; sister-in-law Joyce Mclnville; brother-in-law Ray Nibbe; nieces Myrtle Odom, Donna Meggs, Katherine Hamilton; nephew David Mclnville, and great-great nephew Caleb Hunt.

Mason is survived by his son Lee Mcinville of Bennettsville; daughter Dawn (Jason) Reyes of Fort Dodge IA; step-daughters Pam Mushatte of Fort Dodge IA, and Julie Wright of Conway, AR; grandsons Joshua Doss of Ames, IA, Skyler Doss (Courtney) of Boise, ID, and Dakota (Ashley) Doss of Fort Dodge, IA; granddaughters, Carrissa (Alicia) Soderlind of Fort Collins, CO, Serenity Reyes, Jazlyn Gardner both of Fort Dodge, IA and great grandson Braxton Doss of Fort Dodge, IA; brother Gerald Mclnville of Fort Dodge, IA. A host of nieces and nephews.
