With profound sorrow we announce the passing of Mildred Cannady who departed this life July 15, 2021 in Florence.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 2:30PM at the Berea Baptist Convention Center. Interment will follow in the Church of God for All People Heavenly Memorial Garden.
Face coverings are required for entry into the Berea Center.
Mildred Jane Cannady was born on July 22, 1934, to the Late Nannie Mae McWilliams and the Late John Berden.
Mildred became a faithful member of St. Beulah Baptist Church in 1968. While, attending she served as a member of the Gospel Choir, the Missionary Auxiliary, Pulpit Aide and assisted in the Food Service Ministry as needed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Rev. James Cannady. Two Grandsons: Keith “Bubba” Nichols, Frank Dunn, III, a brother-in-law: William Cannady and a loving son-in-law, Theodore Parker.
Left to cherish her memories, four children: Rev. Linda Ray, Petersburg, VA, Frank Dunn, Jr., Nashville, TN, Joyce Parker, Bennettsville, SC, Rev. Vernon Cannady (Sandra) Charleston, SC. Two sisters: Mary Madison, Los Angeles, California, Dannie Jean Odom, Apple Valley, California. Four sisters-in-law: Maggie Cannady, Brooklyn, NY, Charlotte Melton, Laurinburg, NC, Noreen Pear, Brooklyn, NY, Wallena Cannady, Maxton, NC. One brother-in-law: Joe Cannady, Rockhill, SC. Eight grandchildren: Kevin Ray (Betty), Mesha Cain (Ryan), Terrance Ray (Wendy), Sherri Cannady, Angela Reese (Antione), Derrick Cannady, Deon Cannady, De’Kel Cannady. Twenty-eight great grandkids, seven great great grandkids. Two goddaughters: Niyoki Morgan, Brooklyn, NY, Sharon Prince Bennett, Cheraw, SC. Special friends: Idella Peterkin, Bennettsville, SC and Juanita Ridges, Detroit, Michigan and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
