With profound sorrow we announce the passing of Olabe A Ray who departed this life November 23, 2021 at her residence.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 2pm at Trinity United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
We Love you Momma, but God Loved you Best sleep on and take your rest.
Mrs. Olabe Anderson Ray affectionately known as “Ma-Ma” and “Sister” was born November 7, 1935, to the late Charles and Maggie Anderson.
She was married to the late John Ray and to this union nine children were born.
She accepted Christ at a young age and became a member at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Tatum, SC. She sang on the Senior Choir and the Gospel Choir and was a member of the Usher Board. Hopewell later became Trinity United Methodist Church in Bennettsville, SC; and she remained a faithful member until her health failed.
Mrs. Ola was a member of the Gospel Rays. She was a loving and caring mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, a friend with a humble spirit, and a praying woman of God.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Helen Marie Alford, one son, Leroy Ray, and great granddaughter, Haven Nevaeh Ray.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories four sons: Charles and Naomi Ray, John Wayne and Everee Ray, Sam Ray, and Alexander Ray. Three daughters: Brenda McLean, Shirley and Leroy Grant, and Patricia Ann Ray. One sister, Mary Ruth Anderson. One brother, Grover Anderson. One adopted daughter, Rev. Blanche Williams. A very good friend Mrs. Dora Easterling. Twenty-four grandchildren, forty-one great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
