Pearline Mc Nair Parnell was born on October 6, 1927 in Marlboro County, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Sandford McNair, Sr., and Nezzie Kollock Mc Nair. She departed this life on Sunday, February 14,2021 at Morrell Nursing Center in Hartsville, South Carolina.
She received her education in the Marlboro County School System and worked several jobs. But her passion was in the health care field in which she invested countless years and in various capacities.
At an early age she accepted Christ and joined Spears United Methodist Church which later became Trinity United Methodist with the merger of three congregations. She loved her church, and in previous years she served as Chairperson of Evangelism, sang on the choir, and was a past member of the United Methodist Women.
She was married to the late Clem Parnell, Senior. To this union three children were born. She was preceded in death by her son, Clem Jr., a daughter, Helen Ruth, and a loving and devoted grandson Jerome, two sisters and three brothers: Mattie Mc Rae and Nezzie Lee Bines, Dupree Mc Nair Sr., Sandford Mc Nair Jr., and Joseph Charles Mc Nair.
She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Shirlene Parnell Dixon (Leonard); two grandsons: Tyrone Parnell, a devoted caregiver of the home, and Prentiss Tremain Gurley (Cameika) of Bennettsville; two grand-daughters: Nicole Becote of Columbia, South Carolina, and Torrey Becote of Silicon Valley, California; one great- grandson Khalil Gurley; three great- grand-daughters: Paris Parnell, London Gurley, and Khadijah Gurley; one great-great-grand-daughter Raelyn Drayton; one sister- in-law, Ola B. Spears Parnell, several nieces and nephews of whom she loved dearly and a host of relatives and friends.
