Peggy Brunson

Mrs. Peggy Ruth Ratcliff Brunson was born on April 26, 1959, to the late Ophelia Purvis Ratcliff and the late Sonny Nelson Ratcliff. She was reared in the home by her grandmother the late Mrs. Maggie Lee Purvis.

She attended Marlboro County Public Schools and graduated from Blenheim High School in 1978.  She loved spending time with her family, Cooking, playing cards, and making people laugh and smile.  To know Peggy was to love Peggy and she loved life.  At a very young age, Peggy dedicated her life to Christ. She was a member of Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church. While attending she served on the usher board and a Choir member. She had strong work ethic and employment with many companies, and she also served as a health care worker.

Peggy was married to Lamar Brunson, March 15, 2001, they share a life of love, happiness and marital bliss for more than two decades.

Peggy was proceeded in death by her parents, and Parental grandparents.

Left to cherish her fond and lasting memories a devoted husband, Lamar Brunson; Three sons, Jerry Dewayne Moore, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Chief Petty Officer, Desmond Moore Naval Station Norfolk, Norfolk Virginia, Marquez Brunson, Hartsville SC, One Grandson, Jerrell Da’mon Moore. Two brother Eddie Ratcliff of Bennettsville; SC, James (Deborah) Slade Jr. of Greensboro, NC; Four sisters; Ophelia, and Irene Ratcliff all of Bennettsville, SC, and Pensacola Slade (Steven) of Greensboro, NC. Reared in the home Gloria (Clyde) Morris of Bennettsville, SC. Eight sister-n-laws; Gereline and Lawan Brunson of Bennettsville SC, Velma and Yvonne Brunson, and Phyllis (Mitchell) Warren, of Baltimore MD., Elaine Brunson, of New York, Charlotte Brunson of GA, and Katina Brunson of Florence SC. Three brother-n-law Romaine (Dobbie) Brunson of Hamlet NC, Carl Brunson of Bennettsville SC, and Reginald Brunson of Blenheim SC. Four Aunts, Daisy Brown, Ruby (Zannie) Parker, Lillie (Nathaniel) Oliver, Almeta (Howard) McRae all of Bennettsville, SC; seven Uncles: Freddie Purvis, Henry Lee Purvis, Larry (Mamie) Purvis, Ronnie (Elaine) Purvis, Gardner Purvis, all of Bennettsville, SC, Willie (Clyda) Purvis of Blenheim SC, Paul James (Martha) Purvis of Lois, SC, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
