Peggy Manning

Peggy Manning departed this life September 11, 2020 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, September 17,2020 at  3:00 pm at Bennettsville Community Center. Interment will follow in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Memorial Gardens. Due to Covid-19 seating for the service is limited. Everyone in attendance must wear a mask. Please refrain from handshakes and hugs. 

Peggy Manning of Clio, SC departed this earthly life on Friday, September 11, 2020 at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC.

She was born June 13, 1962 to Howard McRae Sr and the late Ella Mae Wright McRae who preceded her in death.

Peggy was raised in the home and attended the public school system of Marlboro county where she graduated from Clio High school in 1980.

She was united in marriage on August 7, 1982 (38 years) to Jerome Manning and from this union three children were born.

Peggy was preceded in death by her sister; Ella Pearl McRae.

Peggy was a dedicated, loving, funny, compassionate, selfless individual who to devoted her life to her passion which was caring for others. She began the pursuit of her life long dreams of becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in 1996 at Chesterfield Technical College, Cheraw, SC. Upon completion of the LPN program she continued her studies towards an Associates Degree in Nursing (RN/ADN) at Florence Darlington Technical College, in Florence, SC. After knowing she had more fight within her she then set out to obtain her Bachelor in Science of  Nursing  at USC Spartanburg, in Spartanburg, SC. Determined to set the standard for both her kids and love ones she then set out to knock out the goal of completing her Master of Science in Nursing  in which she did so gracefully with a concentration Adult Gerontology Acute Care, Nurse Practitioner. Peggy has selflessly worked for various Medical Care Systems, which included: Marlboro Park Hospital 1997-2000, Dundee Nursing Home 1997-2000, Carolina’s Hospital Systems 2002-2008, Trinity Healthcare 2004-2008, Carolina’s Hospital System 2008-2010, Prestige Healthcare 2008-2010, Marlboro Park Hospital 2010-2012, Scotia Village 2012-2013, McLeod Reginal Hospital 2013–Until Deceased.

Although Peggy had a very tedious work schedule she always found time to serve within her community, church and to support her love ones. Within her church she served as the church nurse, president of the usher board, Advisor senior ministry, and president of the hospitality committee. Her Community commitments included severing on the Clio EMT, Clio Opera house, youth advisor, chairperson for adopt a class for the Clio School, Expansion Committee and Secretary for Cancer Awareness.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories her husband, Jerome Manning; Three children, MSG(R) Ansel R. (Joycelyn) Manning of Lillington, NC, SSG Deidra Manning Fayetteville, NC, Elijah Ty’Ion Jerome Manning Jr of the home. Father
