Ronald Thomas Obituary

With profound sorrow we announce the passing of Ronald Thomas who departed this life June 23, 2021.

Funeral service will be Thursday, July 1, 2021 at the Berea Center at 3:00 PM.  Interment will be held in the Berea Memorial Garden. 

 

Ronald G. “Patches” Thomas was born July 3, 1972, to Dorothy Thomas Jacobs and the late Ronald McCrae in Tatum, SC.

Ronald received his education in the Marlboro County Public Schools. He graduated with honors in the first graduation class of Marlboro County High School in 1990.

He enlisted in the US Airforce in 1991 and received an honorable discharge in 1994.

Patches, as he was better known, loved doing yard work and other odd jobs. Patches was also known for that big smile and a great talker. When Patches was with you, he made you feel like you were the most special person to him (at that moment you were). He always ended his conversation with I love you and a big smile.  

In February 2021 Ronald Married Charlotte Seagrave, McColl, SC.

On Wednesday, June 23, 2021, Ronald departed this life to join his Heavenly Father. He was preceded in death by his father and sister Granada McCrae.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Charlotte Seagraves Thomas of McColl, SC. His mother Dorothy T. Jacobs of Tatum, SC. Special mother Laverne McCrae of Bennettsville, SC. Special father Barry Jacobs (Sherry) of Chesterfield, SC. Brothers: SFC Corey Thomas (Taunee) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Chris Lampkin of Woodberry, VA. Sister Tracey Knox of Baltimore, Maryland. Maternal Grandmother Dorcas T. Greene “Big Momma” of Tatum, SC. Stepdaughter Veronica Creel. Step grandchildren Landor and Gannon. Special uncle Hudson Thomas “Bocat” of Tatum, SC. Uncles: James McCrae of Bennettsville, SC, Kennedy Graham of Fayetteville, NC, Teddy Simmons of Moncks Corner, SC. Aunts: Sylvia Thomas, of Summerville, SC, Jacqueline Graham of Tatum, SC, Elaine Lewis (Robert) of Ridgeville, SC, and Shirley Douglas of Charlotte, NC. Sisters-in-law: Rose Lockey and Tammy Jacobs (Samuel). Brother-in-law Henry D. Seagraves (Patricia). Nephews: CJ and Cam. Nieces: Sunshine, Manijah, and Mylasia; great niece Aila. Great Aunts: Rosa Douglas, Pearl Robinson, Peggy McCrae, Leacy Irby, Freddie Mae McCrae, and Lula McCall. Great uncle Jake Thomas. A special little cousin Kennedi Graham and a special family friend Calton Purvis (BO). A host of cousin’s other relatives, and friends.
