Roosevelt Ellis Adams Sr passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at the age of 57.
Ellis was born March 5, 1964, in Laurinburg, NC. Ellis was a loving father and devoted husband. On July 19, 1986, he married the love of his life, Teresa Adams. He was a member of Community of Grace Church. He often stated that his family was his greatest accomplishment.
Ellis was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys’ fan. If he was not spending time at home with family, he could be found at his second home, the gym. Ellis competed in many powerlifting competitions and received many trophies and awards throughout the years. He also trained and mentored several other upcoming powerlifters such as his long-time best friend, Chip Archer. Ellis was also a member of the Masonic lodge, Bennettsville chapter. He spent the majority of his working career in a supervisory position at Murphy Brown, Marlboro County and Scotland County Detention Center and most recently employed at Planet Fitness in Laurinburg NC. Ellis was a kind and loving man with an infectious laugh and personality.
Ellis was preceded in death by his mother, Cora Lee Roberts-Adams, a brother, Gary Adams, and a son Adrian Adams.
