Tammy Terril Townsend, daughter of Roosevelt and Phyllis Townsend was born on January 05, 1969 in Dillon, SC. Tammy peacefully transition her earthly life on January 05, 2021 at McLeod Regional Medical surrounded by her parents and immediate family by her side.
Tammy was educated in the Marlboro County School District, Clio High School Class of 1987. She furthered her education at Benedict College, and graduated from Columbia Junior College, SC Associate Degree in Business Admin. She had worked in the finance field for 30 years, customer service representative, to Brand Manager. She was loved by all and she is especially known for her beautiful smile.
At an early age she joined Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she served as a Faithful member until the end. Jr. choir, Jr. Usher, board, and currently President of the Missionary and the Kitchen Committee. Tammy was also a dedicated “Cowboys” Fan.
She was preceded in death by four uncles, William Townsend, Prentiss Townsend, Gerome Townsend, and Author Bracy.
Left to cherish her parents listed above of the home, her twin sister Tiney (Lamont) Lowery of Chesterfield, SC. Nephew and Niece who were very “special” to her and she loved them as her own. Lamont Lowery of Cheraw, SC, Jameka Lowery, of Chesterfield, SC, and a great niece Mila Tahiri Naliah Lowery of Cheraw, SC. A cousin who was raised up as her Lil Bro, Kerwin Townsend of Albemarle, NC. Four uncles David (Sue) Townsend Chesterfield, SC, Ralph (Rose) Townsend, Bennettsville, SC, Donald (Linda) Bracy of Dillon, SC, and Charles, Jr. (Christine) Bracy of High Point, NC. Seven aunts Geneva Townsend, Sarah Mae Townsend, Starr Ann Townsend all of Bennettsville, SC, Helen Townsend of Florence, SC, Annie Margaret Townsend of Bennettsville, SC, Betty Ann (Billy) Shipman, and Katie Mae Nick both of High Point, NC. A special friend Reginald Williams of McColl, SC, and a host of cousins, family, and friends.
